SafeTribe — Privacy Policy

1. Information We Collect

SafeTribe collects the following data to provide crisis navigation and mutual aid services:

• Account info: name, email address (or Facebook/Google profile when using social login)
• Location data: GPS coordinates to show nearby alerts, shelters, and safe routes
• Emergency contacts: phone numbers you add for SOS alerts
• User-generated content: danger reports, posts, messages within tribes

2. How We Use Your Data

• Display real-time safety information on the map
• Send SOS alerts to your emergency contacts
• Connect you with nearby tribes for mutual aid
• Send push notifications for critical alerts in your area

3. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. Your location is shared only with your tribe members when you explicitly enable it. SOS alerts are sent only to contacts you have configured.

4. Third-Party Services

• Google OAuth / Facebook Login: for authentication only
• Twilio: for SMS SOS notifications
• MapLibre / CartoDB: for map rendering
• Pikud HaOref (Tzofar): for rocket alert data in Israel

5. Data Retention

Your data is retained as long as your account is active. You can request deletion of your account and all associated data by contacting us.

6. Security

All data is transmitted over HTTPS. Passwords are hashed using bcrypt. We use industry-standard security practices to protect your information.

7. Your Rights

You can access, modify, or delete your personal data at any time from your profile settings. For data deletion requests, contact contact@safetribe.app.
